border crack and deekabout
Cumbrian Dictionary
( n bordercrackendeeykabowt) "Lookaround". Border TV's evening news magazine programme, known locally as the 'deekabout' (look around) as it looks at what is happening around the region. Literally translates as 'Border news and look around'.
So 'phenomenal' is the success of this week-daily broadcast, that wherever you go in Cumbria, the name and face of Eric Wallace (reporter and sometime anchor on the show since the beginning) is known by everyone young and old.
